When you go camping are you retreating to the woods to get away and relax? Is your ideal camping experience one with your butt in a lawn chair, drink in hand, food cooking on the fire and being surrounded by good company? If this is your type of camping, then you’ve come to the right place.

White Sands campground has private sites nestled in treed and dune areas. These sites can cater to a family or small groups of 4 to 20 people. Hydro and water hookups are also available.

Long Weekends

White Sands is a favourite long weekend destination for people looking to get away. Located just minutes from downtown Sauble Beach, campers can enjoy long days on Sauble’s 11km sandy beach and nights sitting around the campfire.  Campsites book up quickly so make sure you book early to guarantee a site.

Amenities

At White Sands we pride ourselves in the craftsmanship of our facilities. Our buildings are all handmade timber frame and stone structures, our washrooms are new and clean, and our wood is guaranteed to burn nice and hot. Our store is always well stocked with the supplies you need.

  • As broken glass and bare feet do not mix, we ask that ALL beer brought to White Sands comes in cans. So no glass bottles, except for large liquor and cooler bottles.

  • Due to by-laws, generators are not permitted in the park.

Do we have to reserve for the whole long weekend?

Reservations for long weekends are for three nights (Friday to Monday). 

What is the deposit for, and do we get it back?

This deposit is paid via e-transfer upon your reservation or in cash at check-in for walk-in bookings and returned at check out. It is for site cleanliness and damage to property. As long as you are respectful to our property and staff, you will get it back.

How does check-out work?

In order to receive your deposit back, your site must be checked for cleanliness and no damage to the property. Know your site number.

What are the methods of payment?

We are cash only. There are two ATMs on site and a Royal Bank in Sauble.

Can we reserve specific sites in the family camping area?

Yes, if the site is available you can reserve it. 

Is there a limit of how many people we can reserve for?

The number of people varies depending on site size.

Is there a limit for tents per site?

The number of tents varies depending on site size.

Is there a limit of cars per site?

The number of cars varies depending on site size.

Are visitors allowed?

No, but Sauble Beach is an excellent location to meet up with friends.

Can we get a refund if it’s raining?

While we want you to have perfect weather and stay dry, sometimes it rains.  Sadly we cannot control the weather. There are NO refunds.

Are dogs allowed?

Yes, we love our furry friends, but they must be leashed.

Is it true that we have to pay for showers?

Yes, the showers are token operated.  $1 tokens get you 4 minutes (This helps us with water conservation). We suggest grabbing your tokens when you check in, you can always return them when you leave if you don’t use them.

Are generators allowed?

Due to by-laws, generators are not permitted in the park.

How far away is White Sands from downtown Sauble Beach?

We are a 5 minute drive (10km) from downtown Sauble.

Are there hydro hook ups?

There are hydro and water hook ups in the family camping area for additional charge.

Does the bottle rule apply to only beer?

Yes, this rule is only for beer bottles. Liquor and cooler bottles are allowed on the premises.

Is there a quiet time?

Family camping – Yes, we ask that our campers be respectful and be quiet after 11pm.

Does the campground have BBQs?

There are no BBQ’s on site, but there are fire pits on every site and you can borrow a grill from the office. BBQs are also permitted.

How much is firewood?

Our wood is $13/bag or $15/wheel barrel. We have some nice wood.
